Terence Carr, was born in Kenya / Nairobi (Irish parents) in 1952 and lived there until 1971.  He studied Art Education and History of Art in Augsburg University and has work as a sculptor and painter since 1982.  He has received numerous awards for his work, like the Schwabien Art Award (Kreissparkasse Augsburg), Art Award City of Marktoberdorf and the Art Award City of Donauworth.  Carr currently lives in Germany. His work focuses on the differences and similarities of the many worlds in which he has lived. When Carr is creating pieces that are inspired by African influences, he works under an alias, but when he is producing work that is based on European influences he works under the name of Terence Carr. “Ferry Man” is an example of the European influenced work.
